Bombay Cricket Club Restaurant Review: Eating Indian food is a pleasure in this family-run two-level restaurant where cricket matches play on a large, flat-screen TV. All the curries are first-rate with adjustable heat; we also like the spinach-packed shrimp saag, the butter chicken, the dals, or any of the coconut curries (scoop up the sauce with wedges of naan). The restaurant's tandoor oven performs admirably, and the lamb, chicken and fish emerge a charred, lusty orange color but are never dry. Cardamom adds a gentle perfume to the basmati rice. Wash everything down with Indian beer or the vivid mango margaritas. There's also a perplexing but tasty array of Middle Eastern dishes, such as lemony fattoush salad, mezze platters and grape leaves. |
