Bon Temps Creole Cafe Restaurant Review: A fire shuttered this local favorite for several months, but Bon Temps Creole Café is back in action and letting the good times roll again. The interior has benefited from new paint, but it’s still got its casual feel and some solid Cajun and Creole fare. No, the muffaletta isn’t exactly what you’d get at Central Market, but you’ll still find touches such as freshly baked sesame loaves, house-made andouille sausage, and from-scratch golden roux. For breakfast, try the fried green tomato Benedict; for lunch, go for the fried chicken salad served with cornbread. At dinnertime, it’s hard to pass up the hearty shrimp Creole, but there are also combos such as sirloin and blackened salmon with collard greens. Enjoy a bottle of Abita beer or one of several wines by the glass, and be sure to save room for desserts, such as rich bread pudding or sweet potato pie. |
