The BonBonerie Cafe & Tea Room Restaurant Review: BonBonerie has a signature opera-cream torte that is a sight to behold: chocolate chip-studded chocolate layers brushed with vanilla syrup, coffee liqueur and brandy and filled with a mixture of white chocolate, cream and butter. The cake is glazed with bittersweet chocolate and skillfully decorated with more chocolate. Even the cookies are almost too pretty to eat. Ladies who lunch are sure to make this a dining favorite, while baking enthusiasts enjoy learning to use local ingredients to create savory tarts. The bakery has expanded to include a café, which serves a mini version of the opera-cream torte during afternoon tea, along with quiche, finger sandwiches and more than 75 kinds of tea. Lunches are light, ranging from crêpes or a daily quiche to a tuna plate or turkey sandwich. Soups and salads are served with a side of fruit and cookies. |
