Boodles Restaurant Review: The motto of this eclectic place at 11 Mile Road and I-75 is “Where East Meets West,” signifying Boodles is convenient to both Detroit’s East and West sides. More importantly, the food is consistently good. Sandwiches, pastas (referred to as Boodles' Oodles of Noodles), pizza, steak, shrimp, sea scallops, burgers and the daily specials are all recommended. Boodles' menu doesn't fit the mold, though. Where else are escargots offered at lunch? Several dishes are prepared tableside with dramatic flair, including bananas Foster. Some favorites include the Michigan Salad --- fresh baby field greens with blue cheese, egg, sunflower seeds, apples, Roma tomatoes, green onions and smoked bacon, topped with your choice of dressing, as well as seafood strudel with shrimp, scallops and lobster, wrapped in phyllo and topped with two shrimp and a sherry-lobster cream sauce. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, a piano player draws enthusiastic applause from bar patrons and diners. There's a lengthy wine list with old- and new-world reds, whites, sparkling selections and Champagne plus ports and sherries.
