| The restaurant prides itself on serving Mexican food that lies outside the well-worn path, including margaritas, of which there are a dozen or so options, including a rainbow variety. Food specialties hail from chef Jaime Gonzalez’s family and homeland of Guadalajara. You may opt to start with the firecrackers---six roasted jalapeño peppers stuffed with Chihuahua cheese and meat. For the main meal, try the grilled tequila shrimp; Oaxaca-style tamales wrapped in banana leaves; short pork ribs in roasted tomatillo salsa; or a poblano pepper tucked with ground sirloin, nuts and raisins and covered in chilled, creamy pecan sauce. It’s also hard to go wrong with any of the charcoal-grilled meats. Every Thursday night there’s live mariachi music, too. |
