Boxcar Cantina Restaurant Review: Having trouble finding Boxcar Cantina? Just follow the noise echoing from inside the restaurant, which is amplified by its tin roof. The eatery is on Hamilton Avenue, an extension of Railroad Avenue, and not on Old Field Point Road, which usually gets first-time diners turned around. The Northeastern Mexican menu sets itself apart from the conventional Southwest Mexican cuisine found seemingly everywhere. Go for the San Antonio fajitas with Stuart Farm beef served with pinto and black beans, guacamole and Boxcar flour tortillas, and an organic Spanish brown rice accompaniment, and the New Mexican-style sopapillas, hot bread pillows served with local Andrew’s Honey. Margaritas are king-size and made with any number of tequilas on hand, including Jose Cuervo and Don Julio. The ambience helps to offset the fact that you're paying Greenwich prices for so-so fare.
