THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Breslin Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: After wooing New Yorkers with The Spotted Pig (and almost single handedly bringing the gastropub trend to America), chef April Bloomfield followed up with Breslin, a pork-ified pub-like homage to British chef Fergus Henderson.

Food & Drinks: Located in the hip Ace Hotel in the Flatiron District, Breslin is the epicenter of pork fetish, the snout-to-tail movement that has practically given foodies mad pig disease. There are boiled peanuts fried in pork fat, a Scotch egg and sausage stuffed quail for starters. For something less pig-centric, go for the lamb burger, accompanied by crispy fries and sandwiched between a soft bun. For brunch, the kitchen turns out seafood sausage, chargrilled skirt steak with fried eggs, and a full English breakfast. "Puddings," aka desserts, include lemon and ricotta profiteroles, apple pie and chocolate and peanut butter mousse. The wine list boasts very good bottles from all over the world and is generally expensive, while the impressive beer selection has house-made cask-conditioned British-style ales. Craft cocktails are also offered.
