The Breslin Bar & Dining Room Restaurant Review

: Restaurateur Ken Friedman and chef April Bloomfield have done it again. After successfully wooing New Yorkers with The Spotted Pig (and almost single handedly bringing the gastropub trend to America), they bring you The Breslin, a pork-ified pub-like homage to British chef Fergus Henderson. Located in the hip Ace Hotel in the Flatiron District, The Breslin is the epicenter of pork fetish, the snout-to-tail movement that has practically given foodies mad pig disease. There’s boiled peanuts fried in pork fat. There’s a gooey pork-stuffed pigs trotter for two that has become a menu staple. For something less pig-centric, go for the lamb burger, accompanied by crispy fries and sandwiched between a soft bun. “Puddings” aka desserts include a chocolate malt parfait with stout caramel, hazelnuts and Bourbon-chocolate sorbet. The wine list boasts very good bottles from all over the world and is generally expensive, while the impressive beer selection includes house-made cask-conditioned British-style ales.
