The Brewer's Art Restaurant Review: Located in a Victorian townhouse in the heart of the entertainment district, The Brewer's Art succeeds equally as an elegant fine dining restaurant and as a funky mecca for Belgian beer enthusiasts. From hearty continental bistro fare (steak frites) to imaginative chef's creations (grilled elk loin with black garlic-cauliflower purée, crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted baby turnips and green peppercorn béarnaise), the seasonal menu is full of standouts. Such fare is a good fit for this brewpub's own Belgian-style beers, from the Abbey-style dubbel, aptly named Resurrection, to the dark Proletary ale. End on a sweet note with bread pudding or vanilla bean cheesecake. Throw in a surprisingly shrewd wine list and an opulent dining room replete with old-world intrigue, and you have all the makings of a nice evening out.
