Though interiorly connected and a sister restaurant to Spoon, BrGr has its own street entrance, its own hours and menu, and a special vibe. No reservations are accepted --- it’s first come, first served. There’s a long beer list as well as signature spiked or non-alcoholic shakes and floats. Gourmet burgers include wittily titled offerings such as Sante Fe Hippie (black bean and corn patty) and California Lovin’ (avocado, sprouts and pesto mayonnaise). Then there are the custom-blended Angus beef burgers, and a locally made hot dog, fries, house-made chili and a dessert choice between an ice cream sandwich and a chocolate brownie à la mode. In good weather, a second-story roof becomes an al fresco bar.
