Bristol Seafood Grill Restaurant Review: Bristol’s growth trajectory comes in part from its market-fresh seafood and in part from its reputation for happy hour. Cioppino is a favorite; the San Francisco-style soup is rich with fish, shellfish and red wine-tomato sauce. Raw oysters and crab cakes are appetizers of choice, the latter almost solid lump crab meat, elegant in their simplicity and with a fine mango tartar sauce. But at happy hour, sit at the bar for the discounts on lobster tamales, grilled chipotle shrimp or tuna tartare. Also noteworthy are Bristol’s vegetarian and gluten-free options, including a basil pesto capellini with zucchini, corn, fennel and tomato, and shrimp ceviche with black beans, sweet potatoes, corn nuts and cilantro. The crown jewel of the dessert menu is the carrot cake with pecan praline filling, toasted coconut and crème anglaise. After-dinner drinks cater to the business types who linger over single-malt Scotch, port or private blend coffee. There's also an O’Fallon location, 2314 Technology Dr., 636-625-6350.
