| Bristol’s expansion into a second metro area location has buoyed its status. The specialty cocktails during happy hour haven't exactly hurt its cause either. It remains a solid favorite, with business people arriving for dinner at 9:30 p.m. on a Monday night. Residents from the comfortable upper-middle-class suburbs that surround the restaurant supplement the business traffic as well. Because it features market-fresh fish, Bristol’s menu changes daily and seasonally, although a few standards like cioppino stay constant. Raw oysters and crab cakes are appetizers of choice, the latter almost solid lump crab meat, elegant in their simplicity and with a fine mango tartar sauce. To sample how well Bristol has successfully broken from its bland reputation, try the three- or four-course chef’s tasting menu.
