THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Brother Jimmy's Restaurant Review:
House of Blues, with its Southern-tinged rock club surroundings, has closed its doors in Harvard Square. But it has been quickly replaced by the Southern food-slinging surrounds of Brother Jimmys. This is the second location of an eatery that began in Manhattan and is co-owned by a former Tufts graduate. The idea is simple---barbecue and booze---and because of that it should work. Local students, professors and tourists can be rowdy or just plain hungry, but a good square meal has always worked in this area. The menu provides that with a roster of hush puppies, fried okra, sweet yams and a cue selection base on the Carolina style, which means lots of pulled pork and vinegary-y or sweet-spicy sauces. One thing that wont change is the music: live blues acts will stay on the roster.
