| Although occasionally St. Louis cut ribs make an appearance, Bub-Ba-Q deals mostly in baby-back ribs offered either wet or dry (ask for them dry). Rarely-found burnt ends, a Kansas City concept, are available, too. But we like the quite meaty baby-backs, and enjoy the sweet sauce for its right balance of tang to keep it from becoming cloying. Unusual sides include fried mac 'n' cheese and corn fritters. Brunswick stew seemed a tad laden with liquid smoke the last we visited, but the coleslaw was crisp and fresh. We also recommend the beef brisket, andouille sausage, smoked chicken and chopped pork. Desserts vary daily, and range from pies to cakes and cobblers. The original location in Jasper is at 1976 Hwy. 53 W., 706-692-7929. No alcohol at either location. |
