Restaurant & Market Restaurant Review: Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. seems like more of a phenomenon than a restaurant, claiming to be the only restaurant chain to base its theme around one particularly eclectic Hollywood film, "Forrest Gump." This location on Anaheim’s GardenWalk just east of Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center makes it a convenient option for vacationing families or business types looking for a familiar bite. The place isn’t as rustic or near the ocean as some locations, especially the original Monterey Bay outpost, but the staff is charming, making up for the lack of scenery. The place caters to kids as well as adults, so the young ones can get some lemonade while you order from the long menu of tropical cocktails. Just about everything on the menu is deep-fried and features some kind of shrimp: boiled, steamed, grilled and, of course, fried up in a spicy Creole batter. The enormous desserts are decadent and flavorful. |
