Bunk Sandwiches Restaurant Review: Co-owner Tommy Habetz cooked at many restaurants, including his own Gotham Building Tavern, before turning his skills to creating sandwiches. This unpretentious shop in a slowly gentrifying industrial area offers a dozen or so changing selections daily. The albacore tuna melt is a gooey, salty delight, and the roast beef with caramelized onions, horseradish and cheddar has its charms, too. Probably the most popular sandwich is the fat-rich Cubano, stuffed with slivers of pork belly. Vegetarians can savor whatever is the seasonal special of the day, such as roasted butternut squash with caramelized onions, Gruyère and arugula. |
