With Brazilian rodizio all people seem to know about the food in the land of Pele and thongs, Buteco is a breath of fresh air. Despite the atypical ethnic eatery disjoint between the quality of décor and food, this Fenway fave is a foreign find. Brazilian food, at its core, is a collision between the produce and techniques of the New World and the Old, with Africa playing a leading role. Here you’ll find stews, beans, coconut milk and semi-oddities such as cassava in all their glory. Fried manioc comes in a sweet and earthy carrot sauce. On Saturdays the owner makes the traditional Brazilian dinner of feijoada---a complex weave of a stew combining pork, sausage, dried beef, rice, collard greens, and a whole lot more goodies and goodness. Talk about a good buy: One can and should eat like a king here for under $10.
