Byblos Restaurant Review: The original Byblos location on Metairie Road has long been a beloved outpost for Middle Eastern favorites such as falafel, fattoush salad and chicken shwarma, and this Uptown branch delivers the same food. Local students and businesspeople alike gather for martinis, espresso and beer. The drunken halloumi --- warm ouzo-soaked cheese --- is an exciting appetizer, and we've never been disappointed by the interesting interpretation of Caesar salad. Among the various lamb preparations is a plate of barbecue baby-back lamb ribs, smoked in-house.
