Cafe Bernardo Restaurant Review: A mainstay of the midtown restaurant scene, Café Bernardo was one of the first to offer locally produced ingredients as a hallmark of its menu. The reasonably priced cuisine features seasonal produce, cage-free eggs and humanely treated meats. Many of the creative, inspired dishes have an international flair. Starters include a roasted butternut squash soup with hazelnuts or a kale Caesar salad. Plates include spice-rubbed flank steak, miso-glazed salmon and potato-goat cheese quesadilla. Other options include burgers, sandwiches and mini pizzas. The outdoor patio is ideal for people-watching and weekend brunch.
