The front dining room of this welcoming Cuban restaurant is where all of the action is (lean over the counter and you can see the sandwich press working its magic). The menu is as complete as you could ask for; the meltingly tender ropa vieja is always a sure bet. Beyond the black beans and fried pork chops, you'll find tapas-style offerings (the tortilla espaƱola is especially good). We also recommend the Cuban sandwich (ham, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard on a French bread roll griddled on the aforementioned press), a flank steak sandwich doused in tomato sauce and the Miami sandwich (a Cuban riff with bacon, lettuce and tomato). Finish with tres leches cake or cinnamon-scented bread pudding.
