| Located on the edge of charming Claremont Village, Café Harvard Square is dominated by a sprawling stone patio beneath a green awning. When it's nice outside, few people voluntarily sit indoors, even with its cozy French country inn ambience. The dinner menu is extensive, with French-inspired starters such as moules marinière, onion soup gratinée and seafood crêpe. Steaks are a safe bet here; most come finished with a brandy-peppercorn sauce or Roquefort cream. A respectable salmon filet arrives nicely plated in a beurre blanc, and there is a large selection of pasta dishes. Desserts are equally European, ranging from crème brûlée to tarte Tatin to chocolate mousse. The wine list is attractively priced with nearly three dozen wines served by the glass. |
