The Cafe Restaurant Review: This colorful café serves mostly vegetarian and vegan fare in generous portions. The menu includes a homemade veggie burger of the day (good with truffle fries dusted in Parmesan), soups, sandwiches, salads, stir-fries, grilled pizzas and juices, plus the occasional seafood entrée. Start with spinach gyoza dumplings with ginger-soy dip or polenta sticks with marinara sauce, then move on to brown sugar acorn squash baked with curried couscous, red quinoa, dried cranberries and pine nuts, or the udon noodle bowl with dashi broth, seaweed, shiitake mushrooms and tofu (or clams). Vegan coconut cake makes a fine dessert. There are strings of fairy lights in the front window and local artists’ work on the walls.
