This north suburban trattoria serves the usual suspects --- insalata caprese, pasta, chicken, veal --- plus a few additions like tomatoes stuffed with lump crab meat salad and calamari with spicy tomato sauce atop fried polenta. For the most part, we have found little to quibble about. Sure, it does happen that pasta goes past al dente now and again, and service can lag when the place is full, but we generally enjoy stopping by when we are in this neck of the woods, if only for a glass of wine and the roasted garlic that accompanies bread. After all, the extensive, carefully curated wine list is appealing all on its own.
