THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Luck Restaurant Review:
This Cota Street site sat vacant for years before fashion designer turned restaurateur Gene Montesano opened Café Luck. Classy yet casual, the restaurant offers an international melting pot of culinary styles. The entrée menu includes beef bourguignon alongside beef stroganoff. Appetizers wander the map from escargots to meatballs and ceviche. Herb ricotta ravioli with brown butter and sage flies the Italian flag, along with pizzas including an earthy-flavored white pie with mushrooms, ricotta and truffle oil. The space has the same stylish edge that characterizes Montesano’s other local eateries, but poor acoustics make shouted conversations the norm, as sounds reverberate between hardwood floors and high ceilings.
