| The source of creative Mexican and Central American cuisine on the north side of town is joined by this location on a bustling corner inside the loop. As at the original Café Red Onion, the menu is ever-changing, with many daily specials, including standout seafood dishes. Cordial owner Rafael Galindo blends the cuisines of several nations and takes pride in beautiful presentations and special touches. His signature Colombia medallion is a filet mignon dredged in fresh coffee grounds and served with a mango barbecue sauce. Don’t miss the cream of roasted poblano pepper soup, or the opulent seafood enchiladas, full of shrimp, crab and roasted poblanos, all rolled up in red corn tortillas. Black bean nachos and spicy-sweet pineapple-cilantro table salsa are other attractions. However, we feel that traditional Tex-Mex items like fajitas don’t come off as well here. Some fine South American wine choices are offered along with a good selection of Central American beers. |
