Cafe Terrasse Il Cortile Restaurant Review: Hidden between the trendy shops on Rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Il Cortile offers an inviting break from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Large hanging flower arrangements, walls lined with wine bottles, sumptuous parlor furniture and classical opera playing quietly in the background create an almost otherworldly atmosphere. The menu is basic, but the table d'hôte is satisfying and the wine list is impressive with privately imported selections. Courteous and knowledgeable service matches the carefully prepared food served in generous portions. Quality ingredients are standard, exemplified by the prosciutto, beautifully marbled and lushly soft to the palate and served with thinly shaved Parmesan. Another treasure is angel hair pasta with delicately textured salmon and basil in cream sauce. Tiramisu is composed with a cream that tastes as if it had been whipped just moments before its arrival at the table. |
