| This 20-plus-seat Italian BYOB oozes simplicity, from its minimal townhouse décor to its good, unpretentious food. As a bonus, a soundtrack of operatic selections adds to the mood. The menu borrows inspiration from operas, too---crespelli alla Puccini, branzino alla Figaro, cervo alla Turandot---and dishes are well executed and bursting with freshness. The veal chop with Marsala-scented porcinis is also a winner, as is the creamy tiramisu. Even better, the chef and staff couldn't be friendlier. The quarters are tight, so it’s not the best choice for an intimate evening. Remember this spot is cash only. |
