Most tourists miss out on this friendly neighborhood trattoria because it’s located one block west of the more traversed Lincoln Road mall. Too bad, because Caffè Sambuca’s homemade breads and pastas are good and its seafood specials are fresh and deftly prepared. Other Italian classics---osso buco, chicken Marsala and veal chops with portobello mushrooms---are fine, too. Speaking of the sweet life, live a little with the luscious dessert soufflés. Sambuca’s good food and unassuming ambience draw a bustling crowd of locals who evidently have no trouble finding it.
