California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review: This national pizza and pasta chain ups the ante a bit on mall food. The list of two dozen crispy-thin pizzas includes all the standards, but there are also inventive versions like wild mushroom, Thai chicken and habanero carnitas. But our current favorite is the Jamaican jerk chicken pizza. You can also design your own. If you can tear yourself away from the pies, try one of the pastas. Items like kung pao spaghetti and jambalaya fettuccine epitomize the chain’s playful method of combining disparate cuisines. Salad portions are large, so keep in mind that you can get a half-order. Soups, appetizers, sandwiches made with good hearth-baked focaccia and filling desserts round out the menu. |
