California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review: The two dozen crispy-thin pizzas include all the standards, but there are also inventive versions such as pear and Gorgonzola. The cheeseburger pizza is a meat-cravers pie designed to tempt devoted carnivores. If you can tear yourself away from the pizzas, try one of the pastas; the Thai linguine with spicy peanut-ginger sauce is a winner. Inventive salads are large, so keep in mind that you can get a half-order --- consider the quinoa and arugula salad or the Moroccan spiced chicken salad. The kids' menu lists better-than-the-usual offerings, such as a Hawaiian pineapple pizza with Canadian bacon and chicken with broccoli. Soups, appetizers, sandwiches made with good hearth-baked focaccia and filling desserts round out the menu. |
