California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review: This international chain has taken the basic pizza and transformed it into an inspired canvas where eclectic ingredients take center stage. Pepperoni and sausage no longer dominate; instead, pies include such creations as Thai chicken, habanero carnitas and Jamaican jerk. The global influence can be seen in appetizers as well, such as avocado egg rolls, sesame ginger chicken dumplings and lettuce wraps. Entrées follow suit, and include grilled chicken chimichurri, chile relleno and kung pao spaghetti. Desserts are far less exotic, but enticing nonetheless, and include a red velvet cake, chocolate banana cake and Key lime pie. |
