Caliterra Bar & Grille Restaurant Review: There was a time when “good hotel dining” was an oxymoron, but that’s no longer true. Caliterra is a case in point, an organic-leaning eatery serving pancetta-crusted sweetbreads and baccala fritters. It's only a block off of Michigan Avenue, which makes it a smart respite when shopping the Mag Mile. Comfortable and casually intimate, the restaurant has good service and a classy exhibition kitchen, to boot. Dishes also include braised short rib pappardelle with Barolo demi-glace and horseradish crème fraîche, and pan-roasted salmon with lobster risotto and morel mushrooms. Add that to the fact that the wine list is well thought out --- and priced to sell.
