 Cap City Fine Diner & Bar Restaurant Review: Although it’s far from being a diner in the traditional sense, this buzzing venue pays homage to the diners of a bygone era. Almost everything on the menu is old-time American, with some updates: the Philly cheesesteak is made with shaved prime rib and white cheddar, and the signature meatloaf comes with buttermilk-chive mashed potatoes and chili onion rings. The beer list is almost as extensive as the wine list, which we find very appropriate for Cameron Mitchell's most relaxed restaurant. Weekend brunch features additions to the regular lunch menu like eggs Benedict and baked french toast. The restaurant also has a gluten-free menu with an array of choices. Consider dropping by for happy hour (4 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday) or half-price wine-by-the-bottle on Mondays. Call ahead and the restaurant will put your name on the waiting list. |
