| Traditionalists and outside-the-box types will be equally satisfied at this humble hot dog stand. The place is clean and quirky, with black-and-white tiled floors and wiener-related décor from floor to ceiling. The menu features California beef frankfurters, Polish sausage, hot sausage, pork bratwurst and even a vegan frank, served grilled or deep fried. Specialties run the gamut from the traditional chili dog to a "spud" style with french fries, sour cream and bacon. On a busy intersection in midtown, the mist-cooled outdoor patio is a good place to people-watch with a frank in one hand and a cold beer in the other. Take advantage of "Thrifty Thursdays," with a selection of $2 dogs, beers and fries. |
