THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Capperi Ristorante Restaurant Review:

A friendly, pleasant trattoria in the midst of Little Tokyo, a meal at Capperi gets off to a good start with pizza bread served with olive oil heavily loaded with garlic. Tables in the narrow, tastefully decorated room are generously spaced, service is accommodating and a large banquet room upstairs is a good alternative to local hotels. Appetizers include the predictable caprese salad and calamari fritti, as well as a light tuna carpaccio. There is a large selection of pastas (e.g. ravioli stuffed with porcini in a port-infused sauce), gnocchi (e.g. in pesto) and risotto (with seafood in saffron sauce), and a list of pizzas topped with primarily traditional items. Lamb chops are served in a heavy but tasty balsamic sauce and filet mignon is sautéed with port, mushrooms and leeks. While we can’t get too excited about the food here, we enjoy this little Italian restaurant that is a surprise on a street dominated by sushi bars.
