The Caprice is still one of the Cadillacs of Marin restaurants thanks to a 2010 update and always spectacular views.

The Caprice Restaurant Review

: For 55 years, Tiburon's The Caprice was the Cadillac of Marin restaurants: prestigious, upscale, even a little predictable except for the over-the-water location. It was remodeled in 2010, to be brighter and more contemporary; today there are a few outdoor tables to take advantage of the amazing views of Angel Island and San Francisco. The California and French-inspired menu includes prime rib with all the trimmings for $21.95 on Mondays, and special early bird prix-fixe dinners for under $30 Tuesday-Thursday. While still on the expensive side, menu prices have dropped, so it’s not just for special occasions anymore.

The Caprice, Tiburon

My wife and I decided to go to Caprice for our 10th wedding anniversary. We made a reservation for a Sat evening at 7:30pm through OpenTable. Left specific instructions that this is a special night for us and I wanted a secluded table with unobstructed view on time. To our utter dissatisfaction, they did not have a table waiting for us in spite of the fact that we made a reservation. They made us wait for half an hour and it was only after I complained that they actually got us a table. What was completely dissatisfying was the fact that they did have a table available (a four person table) that they could have given to us but they were holding it for a bigger group even though I saw other couples in the restaurant sitting on a four person table. I was very dissatisfied with their service even though we made a reservation in advance to make this evening special.
