 Start your evening with a glass of wine in the warm wood-trimmed lounge of this near-O’Hare haunt. Then, stroll to the earthy, old-world dining room with vaulted, beamed ceilings and distressed walls to enjoy familiar, Tuscan-style fare. Spit-roasted meat and seafood and slow-simmered sauces pair with the likes of homemade, chestnut-flour tagliatelle, hand-rolled pasta quills and chicken-and-ricotta-filled tortellini. Guanciale-wrapped scallops with fig vinaigrette successfully combine salty and sweet; smoky bucatini with chile-infused sauce heats things up quite nicely. But the real showstopper --- even if it involves some shtick --- is the linguine with basil and prosciutto, which is tossed within (and generously includes shards from the interior of) a Parmesan wheel. Entrées range from lamb osso buco to apricot-glazed duck and veal picatta. Don’t leave without a slab of feather-light, cocoa-dusted tiramisu or a slice of cheesecake.
