Carmel Bakery Restaurant Review: One of Carmel's originals (it has been around for more than 45 years), this bakery still turns out some very good pastries. Tackle an oversize bear claw, break off a crisp pig's ear or lick the sticky stuff from your hands after manhandling a cinnamon-raisin snail. Choose from classic cookies, specked with crystals of granulated sugar, or shortbreads cut into chunky, buttery rounds. Sadly, the company's soft pretzels---once one of the main attractions---are no longer available. |
