| A vegetarian hot-spot drawing carnivores and herbivores alike, this neighborhood bistro is known for its meatless fare. The interior features artwork and theatrical lighting appropriate for a romantic date-night; the quiet wine bar at the rear appeals to both couples and singles. The Mediterranean-inspired menu might include smoked chickpea and sofrito empanadas; green garlic and nettle pesto pizza topped with grilled white asparagus and caramelized sweet onions, roasted hedgehog mushrooms and a blood orange glaze; and a heart root vegetable potpie. Several desserts are vegan. We predict you won't even miss the dairy in the chocolate espresso gâteau. |
