Don't let the location fool you---there's some interesting food to be had tucked away in the back of this nondescript strip mall. Even with seats for 150 customers, it's still a smart idea to make a reservation. If the generically elegant décor doesn’t make you forget you’re dining along one of Albany’s commercial strips, the television studio-dining room with an open kitchen will. Carmine has become somewhat of a local celeb with a daily television show that’s a little like Emeril meets Gordon Ramsay. We're always happy to tuck into appetizers like the homemade mozzarella stuffed with prosciutto and pesto. Choose from a long list of pasta, seafood, chicken, pork and veal, or steak entrées---presentation is to be commended. We've also taken a liking to the Hudson Valley duck breast served with an Italian amerena cherries reduction. The wine list is lengthy, with a number of nice Italian choices. Be sure to save room for cannoli.
