THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Carriage House Restaurant Review:
Chef Mark Steuer revisits his South Carolina roots at this Wicker Park restaurant overlooking Division Street. Bringing together groups at bare wooden tables for shareable plates, the fare is as authentic as it gets, with Southern favorites like skillet cornbread, slightly sweet with a crusty bottom and buttery top; fried green tomatoes; and a low country boil, a tasty medley of shrimp, clams, chaurice sausage, corn, red potatoes and grilled lemon. Get the warm beignets for dessert. Drinks-wise, there are always several hand-made, bourbon and gin-based cocktails available, as well as an extensive wine list featuring Champagne and reds and whites that span the globe.
