The Cellar Bistro, Wheaton, IL

The Cellar Bistro Restaurant Review

: These days, most every neighborhood has a wine bar to call its own, and Wheaton is no exception. This comfortable corner storefront with Bordeaux-colored and exposed brick walls, and a wine list that’s heavy on biodynamic, organically grown selections, also serves cheese platters and small, sharable plates. We are indifferent to the crab cakes drizzled with lemon oil but find them light on filler and affordable given the portion. Mushroom-Brie soup, however, is an enjoyable meal all on its own. The dinner menu expands to include Parmesan-crusted Arctic char and bison rib-eye. A gluten-free menu is available. Live music takes place on Sunday and Monday starting at 6 p.m.

Not Gluten-free as advertised
by Glutenfree Mom on Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:58 pm
Ordered from the gluten-free options menu. They brought food with bread. I was only offered a plate to put bread on. Wait staff didn't understand what gluten-free means. Dismissed my concerns of being given bread. Waiter said it was just a suggestion. I didn't have to eat it. IT WAS ON the PLATE next to the food that was gluten-free. The manager was defensive, and stated that there was no gluten-free menu, just gluten-free options. He did refund the cost of that part of the meal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE IF EATING GLUTEN-FREE.
