| Who wouldn't be hungry after seeing aisle after aisle of eye-catching produce, meats and cheeses? Central Market brings its products from the shelves to the table in a wholesome, cozy café, situated separate enough from the upscale grocery store that most diners aren’t doubling as shoppers (this trip). Steaming cappuccinos, milky teas and fruit muffins are favorites for early birds, who take advantage of the uncluttered, capacious indoor dining room to spend the morning. Lunching on the sprawling patio is lovely, especially when enjoying a New Orleans muffuletta with olive relish or the refreshing tofu soba salad with pickled ginger, wasabi peas and tofu-miso dressing. Margherita pizzas, rosemary chicken with Fontina and prosciutto, and salmon niçoise are among our favorite entrées. It’s equally hard to go wrong with the gourmet burgers or panini. The south location---situated in the Westgate Shopping Center---offers a similar menu and atmosphere. |
