Cepe Restaurant Review: Cepe continues to offer an authentic, gracious Italian dining experience. The theme here is mushrooms; the restaurant has its own humidor to nurture the rich, earthy flavors that are the backbone of many of the dishes. The mushrooms come from southwest China's Yunnan province; some are farmed but many are wild. The pastas, risottos, seafood, and dishes such as lamb loin with eggplant cream and roasted Australian swordfish with raisins and spinach are all beautifully presented. For dessert, we recommend the chocolate pudding with raspberry sherbet. A sizeable wine list complements the fare. The space is fairly small but sexy with deep reds and browns and little curtained booths for romance. The waitstaff glides about in the background so that service is hushed and efficient.
