Chat 19 Restaurant Review

: Chat 19 rounds out the trio of restaurants developed by owner Mario Fava in the Westchester area --- the other two are Lusardi's and Moscato. With its chic yet laid back downtown New York City feel, the restaurant has carved out a stylish niche in Larchmont. Exposed brick walls and wood paneling set off the earth tones of deep reds and browns that define the space, while the menu features grilled meats, fish and seafood. Try the lobster tacos with grilled mango and lime zest, and carrot and ginger soup with crème fraîche. Entrées deliver, with creative combinations like spaghetti squash with diced vegetables, pesto and pine nuts in a light tomato sauce, and a traditional grilled Romanian skirt steak with coconut basmati rice and wilted spinach. A creative array of cocktails, including a number of fruity martinis, put the lounge aspect at Chat 19 into perspective. Ultimately, beyond the eclectic fare, style is the flavor that draws the crowds.
