Cheeky's Restaurant Review: Every neighborhood needs a Cheeky’s --- a place to congregate for breakfast and lunch. Not that we like to name drop, but the fact that Cheeky’s brews java from Northern California’s popular Blue Bottle Coffee is an added perk. Guests are seated in translucent cantaloupe-colored chairs, where they can enjoy a bistro-style meal. The restaurant strives to serve only seasonal, locally grown and preferably organic foods, which results in a menu that changes weekly. Breakfast choices present fresh takes on the usual pancakes, smoked salmon, french toast and egg dishes. There are also usually one or two surprising items, such as eggs Benedict with sautéed arugula on a cheddar chive scone, or chile verde pork stew with cheddar grits. Lunch offers a good soup of the day, a creative selection of sandwiches and some out of the ordinary salads. A small list of beer and wine is available. Take a scone to go, or linger over a latte in the tiny courtyard. And, like any good neighborhood bistro, be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends when the population swells.
