THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cheers on the Channel Restaurant Review:
Driving up to what looks like a funky little hamburger joint, first-time visitors are in for a surprise. Sure, there is a little bar where locals gather, but it leads to a soothing space with two adjoining dining rooms, one of which is a cobblestone-walled enclosed patio. A succession of competent chefs has commanded the tiny kitchen now overseen by co-owners Don Zgieb and grandson D.J., who’ve have managed to maintain a remarkable consistency in the fare. Entrées might include porterhouse pork chop or a tender filet, all handsomely presented. Since you’re near the river, try the pickerel, prepared broiled or pan-fried. There’s a nice wine list with 100-plus options.
