The Cheesecake Factory Restaurant Review: This chain evolved from a single neighborhood cheesecake bakery in California into a popular national dining concept. The ruling idea seems to be: Diners want mammoth portions of casual fare they can count on, and cheesecake…lots of cheesecake. All locations offer classic American comfort food, as well as CF's own middle-of-the-road style of global fusion-style dishes. From a carefully market-researched menu of over 200 items, it's most fun to put together an eclectic communal grazing meal of appetizers like spicy-battered popcorn shrimp, buttery sweet corn tamale cakes, "Vietnamese tacos" (roast pork, crisp marinated veggies, and a mild chile/cilantro garnish, enclosed in Asian steamed buns), and sweet potato fries. The menu grows to accommodate food trends in gentled-down versions. And three guesses as to what leads the dessert list, in flavors from Oreo cookie to white chocolate. Warning: Expect delays---there's usually a wait. With virtually nothing on the menu too challenging for children, the place is particularly favored by families. |
