THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chef du Jour Restaurant Review:
Much has changed since the heady opening days of Chef du Jour, but much has stayed the same. It’s still a training ground for up-and-coming young chefs eager to strut their stuff in the exhibition kitchen by turning out an inventive, weekly changing menu of funky starters, unusual sandwiches, and light entrées---consider chilled nectarine soup, smoked trout crostini or polenta with mushroom ragoût and cranberry relish. Following a change in ownership and an expansion, however, it has begun to suffer from the curse of inconsistency; best, then, to come for a workaday lunch (Tuesday through Friday), when the prices are a bit lower.
