THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Chef Marc's Trattoria Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: Situated in a shopping complex at the southwest corner of Durango and West Sahara in The Lakes, this Italian restaurant displays the culinary skills of longtime Vegas chef/owner Marc Sgrizzi. A charming setting is achieved via a décor reminiscent of an old-world eatery, with wood tables and floor, Edison lights, semi-open kitchen, rustic red brick wall, pictures of Italian scenery and an attractive large glass wine cellar.

Likes: Attention to detail is evident from the beautiful presentation of each dish, the fact that fresh pasta and bread are made in-house daily and the restaurant cures its own meats.
Dislikes: While the wine list is extensive, only a few beer options are offered, none of which are locally made.

Food & Drinks: The menu is inspired by chef Sgrizzi’s periodic travels to Italy and his long history of Italian cooking. Not only do dishes rotate seasonally, but a portion of the menu is devoted to daily specials and a section of new dishes changes every few days. Featured starters have included charred Spanish octopus with stewed tomatoes, olives and balsamic; and imported Italian burrata cheese served with micro arugula, tomatoes and balsamic glaze. Pasta is the main event here, with the likes of duck ragù served on paccheri pasta (like a large rigatoni); short rib malfatti, an elevated lasagna using beef short rib; and vegetarian ravioli alla Roma with stuffed ricotta, egg yolk, brown butter sage and shaved black winter truffle. Desserts are made in-house and include rum cake, banoffee pie (banana cream with Oreo) and tiramisu. Complementing the Italian specialties are wines from seven regions of Italy, as well as vino from New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and California.
