Northern Thai cuisine has become de rigueur fare for lovers of Southeast Asian food. And this Red Hook spot, from the chef that wowed spice lovers at nearby Kao Soy, does a fine job of bringing the flavors of the north of Thailand to Brooklyn. One could create a meal from the starters alone: jin som mok is a bowl of ground pork, pig skin, pig ear, garlic and peanuts; the fried banana blossom fritters are fun to share for the table. Satisfying and hearty mains include a pork sausage that has a spicy kick and curry-laced pork belly and shoulder accompanied by salty rib tips and sticky rice. There’s not much by way of dessert, but the beer selection is vast and wines are affordable, offering plenty of options to numb the spiciness in your throat and belly.
