It wouldn't be difficult to imagine Chiboust on any boulevard in Paris. Tangy lemon curd meringue tarts, creamy banana dulce de leche crumbles, tarte Tatins and many other baked items stand enticingly in glass cases at this pâtisserie and boulangerie. But Chiboust is not all about baked goods. Over the years it has evolved into a full restaurant serving French and Mediterranean-inspired fare. For those in the mood to pass an afternoon or evening over a bottle of chilled wine, Chiboust offers a list of old-world, Mediterranean and new-world whites and rosés as well as reds by the bottle and many by the glass. Classic and innovative cocktails can be had at the full bar, too. Eclectic small plates include seared hamachi with clementine, endive and olive aïoli, and wild mushroom truffled Southern grits. Plats du jour range from hearty pan-seared duck breast with mustard spätzle, roasted Brussels and a cranberry wine reduction, to a flavorful lobster and cauliflower paccheri pasta. A number of thin-crust pizzas work equally well as a lunch selection or an appetizer sharing option at dinnertime.
